Tell us what your business does?

Athenime is a company that operates in the health technology sector. Our primary goal is to explore and develop new solutions to everyday health-related problems which to date include women’s oral health and correcting vision impairments. We implement our products through the usage of both hardware and software methodologies.

Where did the idea for your business come from?

I’ve always wanted to own a business in the health sector and overtime I started coming up with new ideas which utilised technology to solve health related issues in a way the current industry had not been implementing.

Have you always wanted to run your own business?


What planning did you do before you started up?

Our initial planning was mainly focused on conducting a lot of market research to identify the gap in the market for our first product concept.

Which entrepreneurs do you admire?

Bill Gates and Elon Musk

What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?

The main challenges that we have faced was lack of experience with regards to forming and running a business. Our team consists of three new graduates from the life science, computer science and international business backgrounds and it is this diverse skill set, passion and strong communication that has enabled us to overcome these challenges.

How have you promoted your business?

To date our promotion has been focused on familiarising people with our business and it’s ambitions. We approach this through various marketing channels and in the near future our promotion will be targeted on spreading awareness of our products.

Where do you see the business in 3 years’ time?

In 3 years time, we see ourselves with a strong European customer base as well an expanded team of like-minded individuals.

What advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

Never doubt your ambitions and surround yourself with people who are as passionate about your business as you are.
